Origins
Ciabot Rosso was once the country home of our great-grandparents.
A rural estate surrounded by vineyards and managed together with sharecroppers, it was left unused by the family for years and was only a hay barn and chicken coop. At the beginning of the 1980s, grandfather Piero gradually brought it back to life, reimagining and restoring the property through thoughtful conservation, creative adaptations and ingenious ideas for making the most of every space.
Transformations
“I have an idea.”
Every transformation began this way: restoration projects, adaptations and spaces reimagined with creativity and respect for their original identity.
Without ever altering the rural soul of the farmhouse, Ciabot Rosso gradually took on a new form.
From an agricultural property it became a family retreat, a gathering place where the landscape and countryside remain the true main characters.
A slow evolution shaped by intuition, patience and a deep connection with the surrounding land.
Sharing
Over time, what began as a personal refuge became something larger.
The restored agricultural buildings were transformed into hospitality spaces: The Islands.
The surrounding woodland remained untouched, and nature continues to be a living part of the place.
Ciabot Rosso became a destination to share with those seeking silence, nature and open landscapes in the heart of Langhe.
A place where stories and people have arrived through different seasons, always guided by the same principle: never lose the essence of what it is.

Restoring Without Changing
The restoration of Ciabot Rosso has always been driven by simple principles: preserving the elements that tell the story of the place, using natural materials and adopting sustainable solutions.
For example, the internal insulation of some of the accommodations was created using straw bales finished with traditional crushed terracotta plaster.
Rainwater is collected and reused to water the vegetable garden, while solar panels help make the property increasingly energy self-sufficient.
Within this vision, the woodland remains a wild and precious green sanctuary, to be protected and preserved for generations to come.
